  • certain social issues addressing the perceptions and prejudices that come with race, gender, masculinity, sexism, and fantasy.

    •Prompt: Your task is to consider some of the social, racial, or gender issues thatpresent themselves. Using Star Wars: The Force Awakens and at least one of thereadings, you will need to come up with your own argument about an issue thatwas presented or implied. Your argument should be focused on the meaning youhave taken from the article(s) and movie. Consider what we have learned aboutconstructing an effective argument through rhetorical strategies such as PACESand Ethos, Pathos, Logos PowerPoint to develop your own.

  • Prompt: Your task is to preform a rhetorical analysis of one of thereadings/articles attached to either Zootopia or Star Wars. Your argument shouldbe whether or not the author’s argument is effective or not. Please focus on thePACES elements and the all of our rhetorical strageties and analysis PowerPoints.oFor example, you could argue that the author’s argument is effectivebecause of their claim employ ethos
  • Requirements (Successful Essays Will Include):

    1- An introduction with a hook, background information, and a thesis with yourargument about the prompt you have chosen

    2- Use of PACES or Rhetorical Strategies

    3- Body paragraphs in PIE format

    4-A conclusion with a restatement of the thesis and final thoughts.

    5- A Creative Title

    Minimum Length: 4-6 pages (including work cited page).

    Remember in PACES corresponds to the following in PIE format.

    • Argument = Thesis
    • Claims = Topic Sentences
    • Evidence = Information
    • Strategies = Evaluation/Rhetorical Strategies that the author uses in their writing
