Social class in the U.S.

Social class in the U.S. is based on relative access to property, power, and prestige. While some of these factors can be measured quite easily, there are a number of intangible and harder to measure factors that make up class membership in the U.S. Watch the following short video (linked below) and reflect on your own social class location and the intangible, harder to measure markers of your own class. Other than income, neighborhood, and education level, what are some of the indicators of your class position? Think outside of the box and be creative. (What types of hobbies do you have and what does that say about your class membership? What types of food do you eat and what does that say about your class membership? What types of sports or music do you like and what does that say about your class membership? etc.)
