MGT 430 SEU Comprehensive Analysis of Training Experience Report

Under the chairmanship of the Health Minister, Fahad Aljilajil, the Health Endowment Fund Board of Directors held its second meeting today (Sunday). The meeting reviewed the fund’s achievements in 2020, most notably its effective contribution in fighting the Coronavirus through 12 health initiatives, benefiting more than 810 beneficiaries across the Kingdom.  The total contribution amounts to around one billion riyals in form of cash and in-kind donations, as well as supporting the national health associations with over 33 million riyals to implement 6 community health initiatives kingdom-wide. The meeting also reviewed the outcomes of the community partnership agreements between the fund and businessmen, which amounted to SR 35 million to implement 6 community partnerships.   

The meeting has taken a number of resolutions, mainly: appointing Dr. Muhammed bin Abdullah Al-Qasim as deputy chairman of the board of directors, assigning Dr. Ibrahim bin Suleiman Al-Haidary as CEO of the fund, and appointing an external auditor for all activities. It has also appointed chairmen and members of the permanent committees, namely: the legal committee, executive committee, auditing committee and investment committee.   

Also, the Health Minister and Chairman of the Board of Directors has launched “Shefa charitable treatment platform”, which is one of the fund’s most important initiatives. It is an electronic crowdfunding platform, with the aim of facilitating the provision of treatment to needy patients who do not have medical eligibility, in cooperation with the private health associations in all regions of the Kingdom.

It is noteworthy that the fund was established by a decision of the Council of Ministers, with the aim of encouraging philanthropy and voluntary contributions in the health field and engaging the community to achieve sustainable health development
