You will need to conduct research and provide a minimum of four secondary sources and one primary source (conduct an interview). Make sure you review the full details prior to completing this part of the project.

 

  • For your secondary sources: do you plan to go to the library? Do you plan to conduct online research? What databases or search methods do you plan to use? When searching online, what important points discussed in Chapter 11 will you consider when selecting your sources? Provide specific database and search engine names in this e-mail. Make sure to review Chapter 11 prior to completing this e-mail. It is also a good idea to visit the Pierce library or another local library to obtain information for your research; the Pierce library databases are available to students online through the Pierce library page.
  • For your primary research, provide information on your interviewee (who do you plan to interview (name, job title, company) and what is the date you set up for the interview). If you have already conducted your interview by this time, you can provide a few of the quotes from the interview. Remember that the person you interview should be working in a position similar to the one you are researching for your career.
  • Make sure your e-mail is in proper e-mail format and include the top fields, subject, greeting, opening paragraph, body paragraph(s), closing paragraph; and the proper signature area.
  • Document should be single-spaced with two Enters between paragraphs leaving one blank line. The body of an e-mail is formatted in a similar way as a Memo. Be sure your document is left aligned, not justified. In other words, you should have a jagged right margin. Use a 12-point font in Calibri, Times New Roman, or Arial.
