- Anton Chekov, The Proposal
- Susan Glaspell, Trifles
Directions: Select one one-act play from Module Four and analyze how the playwright constructs the dramatic work to present conflict or tension. Develop a thesis of your own that 1) describes the primary conflict or tension of the play and 2) explicates how the playwright’s choices in plot, character, dialogue or other literary elements contribute to creating that tension. Incorporate at least two quotations from the play to support your thesis. Required length: 500 – 700 words.
